My Plans for 2024
Hello! It's been a while since I wrote a blog post, hasn't it? About two-and-a-half months, I think. I've been pretty busy with...not really doing much. <v>'
Well, I'm back now, and I'd just like to wish an extremely late Happy New Year to everyone! Just figured I'd post this to share my plans for the coming year.
- I want to try and get onto HRT.
Ever since February of last year, I've been considering getting onto hormone replacement therapy (estrogen, specifically). I've been putting it off since then because a) I'm lazy, b) I'm kinda scared to do so, and c) I've not felt comfortable discussing it with anyone in my personal life. But hey, the sooner I talk to a doctor, the sooner I can at least get onto a waiting list!
- I want to upgrade my bike.
I bought my bicycle back in January of last year, and I think it's pretty cool! I would've gone with an electric bike, but those are expensive and I didn't want to spend that kind of money without knowing if I'd even be able to figure out how to use a bike. So for most of the year since then, I focused on trying to save up for an e-bike conversion kit, and I finally have one! Now I need to figure out how to install it, which will hopefully grant me a good deal of knowledge on how to maintain bikes.
- I want to start gathering parts for a new computer.
Admittedly, this one's not quite as important, since I do have a functioning computer right now, and it's worked pretty well for the past two years and ten months. But I do have some regrets about it—rushing through the process of picking and buying parts, going with Intel instead of AMD, buying such a big case, buying a case that doesn't have a USB-C port on it, putting so much thought into getting RGB lighting that I don't even bother to look at, planning to install Linux as a secondary OS and never actually following through on that, getting a family member to put it together instead of having to learn how to do it myself...all things I hope to address with the new computer. I actually bought the case for it over a year ago (it's a mini-ITX one, and it has a USB-C port!), so amidst everything else going on, I'm gonna try and find the time and money over the coming year to get the rest of the parts.
Those are the main things I can think of, and I don't know if I'll be able to fulfill all (or even any) of those goals...but darn it, I'll try.
Thanks for reading, and I'll catch you in the next blog post, where I drink a glass of water!
